Mary Ollie (Strickland) Snuggs

Mary Ollie Strickland Snuggs, age 88 of Laurel Hill went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2020.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the East Laurinburg Church of God with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park.

Mary was a loving daughter of the late Dan and Ollie Clark Strickland born April 7, 1931 in Marlboro County, South Carolina.   She was the devoted wife of 55 years to the late Malvin Aaron Snuggs, Sr., who passed away in 2008.  Her home was filled with Christian love as she raised and cared for her family.   She was as a longtime faithful member since 1952 of the East Laurinburg Church of God where she served as Vice President of Ladies Ministry and loved singing in the choir.  She loved baking cakes for her family, reading, word puzzles, traveling, shopping and dining out.   Adored by her family, Mary was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be remembered for her loving, kind spirit, and the love she share with so many.

Along with her parents, and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Mitchell Strickland; brothers, Everette Strickland, Earnest Strickland, Eugene Strickland, Alfred Strickland and sister, Marjorie Ann Bozeman.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Gary W. Snuggs and Lester Snuggs of Laurel Hill; Malvin A. Snuggs, Jr., and wife Elizabeth Ann of McColl, SC; her daughter, Cathy S. Swinney and husband Sam of Rockingham; a brother, Lewis E. Strickland of Laurinburg; her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, along with her many nieces, nephews, loving family, friends and church family.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15th at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
