Mary Britt

Mary Ann Wilkerson Britt, age 74 of Laurinburg passed away Friday, November 30, 2018.

Mary Ann was born January 16, 1944 to the late Fuller and Lille Mae Wilkerson of Fairmont, North Carolina.  A loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, Mary was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals and cakes for her family and friends mostly especially during the holidays.  For many years, she enjoyed working at the Laurinburg Flea Market alongside her husband Bobby.  She also enjoyed attending the Maxton Pentecostal Holiness Church, fishing and working in her yard.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Thelma Britt; a brother, Levesta Wilkerson and sister, Annie Warrendoff.

She leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Bobby Lay Britt, Sr. of the home and three children, sons, Bobby “Bob” L. Britt, Jr. of Benson, Randolph Britt and wife Jackie of Apex, and a daughter, Anne Marie Britt of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Miranda, Joshua, Brittanie, and Zachary and great –grandchildren, Jay’Len, Zaniyah, Raniyah and Scottie, along with her nieces, nephews and many friends.

A celebration of life memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2018 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with a time of visitation following the service.  A private interment will be at a later date.
