Lois Thompson Locklear

Lois Thompson Locklear, age 77 of Maxton passed away to her Heavenly home Friday, November 30, 2018.

Lois was born December 13, 1940 in Robeson County, a loving daughter of the late William Thompson and Nevada Roger Thompson. She was the wife of the late Alton Locklear. She worked many years in home healthcare for Southeastern United Care. Lois was a faithful member of Pentecostal House of Christ where she enjoyed worshipping and serving the Lord. In her leisure time, Lois loved to read her Bible. To her family, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and sister and friend.

Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Gladys Thompson; brothers, Joe Thompson, Paul Thompson, Johnny Thompson, R.D. Thompson, French Thompson, Kenny Thompson, Cain Thompson; sisters, Ellen Deese and Betty Thompson.

Lois leaves behind her son, Donald Thompson of Maxton; sisters, Catherine Strickland of Maxton, Silver Filauri of Hope Mills, Marie Brooks of Lumberton, Peggy Spurlin of Georgia and a host of loving family and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Strickland. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at a later date.
