Lily Barnhill Daniels

Lily Barnhill Daniels, age 89 of Goose Creek, SC, formerly of Laurinburg passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 9, 2018.

Lily was the loving daughter of the late Thomas Evander “Van” Barnhill and Famie McGee Barnhill, born July 8, 1929 in Laurinburg.  She graduated from Laurinburg High School and attended Emmanuel College. She retired after many years of service with the Berkeley County Board of Education.  She served as a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Goose Creek. She was a music lover who blessed many with her piano playing and singing in church choirs and for weddings and funeral services. She enjoyed needlework, baking and sharing her baked goods with others.  She also enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels.  She and her late husband loved children and were lovingly called Mama “D” and Poppy. 

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lindsey C. Daniels, daughter, Darla Faith Daniels and a special friend Bob Waldrop.

Lily leaves behind a son, Gary Lynn Daniels of the home; her sister, Parma “Pam” Barnhill Gray of Elmore, AL and brother, Thomas Wayland Barnhill (Dorothy) of Greenville, SC along with her many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Hillside Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Monday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

A memorial service will also be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Goose Creeks, SC.
