LaRue Joyce (Norton) Hicks

LaRue Joyce Norton Hicks of Clinton, IL and formerly of Laurel Hill, N.C. passed away November 13, 2019.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, at the Church In The Pines Presbyterian Church in Laurel Hill, directed by Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville, SC. Rev. Crystal Blue will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park.

LaRue was born in Laurel Hill a daughter of the late Elwood and Sallie Laird Norton. She was a member of the Church in The Pines . 

Surviving are her children, Charlie Rudolph “ Rudy “ (Inez) Hicks, Jr. of Clinton, Illinois; Kayrl “ Kay “ Laird (Michael) Chapman of Clinton, Illinois; Shawn Lynnette (Keith) Holland of Zebulon, N.C. and Kevin Lee (Tami) Hicks of Moses Lake, Washington; Brother Eldridge (Eydie) Norton, Hartsville, S.C.; Grandchldren: Jason Hicks, Justin Hicks, Ryan Hicks, Trevor Chapman, Haley Bevans, Carlyn Holland, Kevin Hicks, Jr. and Zach Hicks; 11 Great Grandchildren; two Nieces and one Nephew.

LaRue was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Charlie Rudolph Hicks, Sr. and her sister Marilyn Edell Norton.
