Judy Jernigan Herring

Judy Jernigan Herring, age 69 of Laurinburg passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019.

Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Jerry Mims, Rev. Richard Tyson and Rev Joe Lucas.   A private interment will be at a later time.

Judy was a loving daughter of the late Oliver J. and Annie Black Jernigan, born October 21, 1950 in Cumberland County, North Carolina.  She dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family as a homemaker.  She loved sharing stories, caring for her animals and cooking, especially her delicious bread.  She served as a longtime member of St. John United Methodist Church.   Judy was happiest sharing time with her family, especially her adoring grandchildren. 

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Bobby Jernigan, Larry Jernigan, Herbie Jernigan and sisters, Martha Vonnie Jernigan Byrd, Marcella Jernigan Lovell.

Judy is survived by her husband, Larry C. Herring of the home; son, Larry “Wesley” Herring and wife Lesley of Gibson; brothers, Pete Jernigan (Dorothy) of New York, Tommy Jernigan (Margaret) of McColl, SC and sisters, Sue Mims (Rev.Jerry) of Laurinburg; sister-in-law, Linda Jernigan; brother-in-law, Lynwood Herring (Donnie) of Fairmont; grandchildren, Ivy Boone (Stephen), Alex Herring, Elijah Herring and great grandchildren, Oakley Boone, Ellie Boone, Colton Herring along with her many nieces, nephews and loving family.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

The family request memorial donations be given in Judy’s memory to Scotland Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
