John Douglas Tapp, age 59 of Laurinburg passed away Monday, November 12, 2018.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Deck Guess and Rev. Bobby Dean. Burial will follow in McMillan Family Cemetery.
John was born December 1, 1958 in Scotland County, the only son of Thomas Cicero Tapp and Patricia Ann McMillan Tapp. He was a dedicated employee with the Scotland County School System in the maintenance department. He was a longtime member of Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church. One of John’s attributes was that he never got in a hurry and enjoyed helping others in their time of need. He enjoyed wood working, farming, hunting, fishing, and he was always cooking. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.
John leaves behind his parents, Thomas Cicero Tapp and Patricia Ann Tapp ; wife, Donna Currie Tapp and daughters, Beth Hobbs (Ronnie), and Elaine Rodgers (Marty), his granddaughter, Morgan Rodgers all of Laurinburg; sister, Karen Tapp Staab (Stan) of Fayetteville; mother-in-law, Patsy Currie of Laurinburg; nephews, Christopher Staab, Jamie Currie (Emily) and niece, Kristin Ray along with a host of loving family and friends.
A time of visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
