Jimmy Seals Patterson, age 65 of Gibson passed away to his Heavenly home on Sunday, May 19, 2019.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the East Laurinburg Church of God officiated by Rev. Brett Davis, Rev. Harry Clark and Rev. Jamie Autry. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
Jimmy was a loving son of the late David Franklin Patterson, Sr., and Annie Gladys Seals Patterson born August 13, 1953 in Marlboro County, South Carolina. He retired after many years in the Maintenance Department with Eaton Corporation. He was a Godly man who served as a faithful member of the East Laurinburg Church of God where he enjoyed playing bass guitar with the church choir. He was a witness for Christ and truly enjoyed playing and singing with other musicians together with their nursing home and prison ministry. Jimmy will always be remembered for his love of family as he cherished sharing time with each of them, especially with grandchildren.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years , Barbara Norton Patterson of their home in Gibson; a son, Jimmy S. Patterson, Jr., “Mr. Mac” of Laurinburg and daughters, Michelle Patterson “Lucy” Wright (Joey) of Laurinburg, April Patterson “Scooter” Tilson (Bob) of Gibson; brothers, David Franklin Patterson, Jr., (Janice) of Laurel Hill, Bobby John Patterson (Betty) of Laurinburg, Richard James Patterson, Sr., (Mary) of Lehigh Acres, FL and sister, Peggy Patterson Rodriquez of Ft. Myers, FL; seven grandchildren, Christopher Alan Locklear, Lindsey Michelle Wright, Ashley Elizabeth Patterson, Alyssa Dawn Patterson, Ethan Shaw Lowery, Dylan Seth Tilson, Blake Cole Patterson; two great grandchildren, Paislee Ashlynne Connell and Paxton Thomas Connell. He also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and many friends including a longtime special friend, Carrie Mariano.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the East Laurinburg Church of God.
