Jimmy Ray Locklear

Jimmy Ray Locklear, age 69 of Laurinburg passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Earl Henderson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Jimmy Ray was born April 6, 1949 in Scotland County, a son of the late Jim Hamer Locklear and Mamie Clark Locklear. He was the husband to the late Sally Goins Locklear, who preceded him in death in July 2017. He served as a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He worked in farming with Breeden Farms and trucking with Southeast Farm Equipment. Jimmy was known as a jack of all trades who enjoyed anything that involved the outdoors. He will always be remembered as a dedicated father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Along with his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by brothers, Gilbert Locklear and Hezzie Locklear; brother in-law, Michael Norton and niece, Amy Denise Lowery.

Jimmy is survived by his sons, Jason Locklear (Dawn), Andrew Locklear (Missy), David Locklear, all of Laurinburg; daughter, Nickie Locklear of Gibson; brother, Glen Locklear of Hamlet; sisters, Jeanette Seals (Raymond) of Wagram, Virginia Locklear, Joyce Locklear, Eldora Norton, Maxie Locklear, Glenda Lowery (Charles), all of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Marley, Sammy, Mason, Gerald, Makailyn, Makenley, Dalyn, Brody, Dylan, Tyler (Jamie) and great grandchild, Levy; long time friend, James Dunlap of Sanford and a host of loving nieces, nephews and many friends.  

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
