James Howard "Bonk" Oxendine

James Howard “Bonk” Oxendine, age 68 of Laurinburg passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019.

James was born September 9, 1950 in Laurinburg, a son of Bonnie Lee Oxendine Hunt and the late Howard Hunt. James loved his work as the owner and operator of B & B Radiator servicing Scotland and surrounding counties for many years.  His happiest times were those spent with his family.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Vera Ellen Wharton Oxendine.

Bonk leaves behind his mother, Bonnie Lee Hunt of Laurinburg; step daughter, Linda Wharton of Whiteville; sisters, Peggie Lee Hunt and Glenda Faye Chavis both of Laurinburg; his brothers, Jerry Lewis Hunt of Maryland, Kay Anthony Hunt and Jeffrey Lee Hunt, both of Laurinburg, along with his many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2019 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Jerry Oxendine and Rev. Ricky Burnett.  Burial will follow the service in Hillside Memorial Park.      Visitation will be from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
