Ilias "Lou" Sotirios Tsalamandris

Ilias “Lou” Sotirios Tsalamandris, age 65 of Laurinburg passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.  A private interment will be held at a later date.

Ilias, a son of the late Sotirios Tsalamandris and Stavroula Argyropoulos Tsalamandris was born February 17, 1954 in Dara Kyparissia, Greece. Lou was known as the face of the Greek Village Restaurant in Laurinburg, where he served the community for many years. During his life in Greece, he proudly served in the Greece Arm Forces and was a former professional soccer player.  Lou enjoyed sports and was an avid baseball fan. He will be remembered for his dedication to his work and family.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his step granddaughter, Emerald Sage Edwards.

Lou leaves behind his wife, Sheila Grant Tsalamandris of the home; his children, Terry Tsalamandris (Carrie) , Stephanie Tsalamandris, both of St. Louis, MO, Ariana Brooke Tsalamandris of Laurinburg; stepchildren, Christopher Adam Simmons (Jessica), Jonathan Andrew Simmons and Christen Elisabeth Simmons all of Laurinburg; brothers, Kyriakos “Kirk” Tsalamandris of St. Louis, MO, Theodoros Tsalamandris, Vassilios Tsalamandris and sisters, Georgia Konstantelou, Vivi Zogopoulos, all of Dara Kyparissia Greece; his grandson, Anson Jax Tsalamandris, nine step- grandchildren along with a host of many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
