Eugene Harris

Eugene Harris, age 71 of Laurinburg passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Solid Rock Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Richard Ingram. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

Eugene was born January 22, 1947 in Scotland County, a son of the late Henry Harris and Daisy Smith Harris. He graduated from IE Johnson in 1966 and was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. Eugene worked for LOF/ Pilkington where he retired after 42 years of service. Eugene, also known as "Cadillac Man", was a quiet, kind-hearted man without much concern and enjoyed spending time outside in his yard. His greatest joy in life was family and spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He was a dedicated husband, father, brother and grandfather who will truly be missed. 

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Hervey Harris; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Nannie Smith and paternal grandparents, Henry and Annie Harris.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Glenda Evans Harris of the home; sons, Rodney Harris of Wagram, Jarvis Eugene Harris of Raleigh, Jordan Eugene Harris of Pittsburgh, PA; daughters, Kendra Harris of Sanford, Chanika Walls of Charlotte, Dr. Renee’ Evans of Raleigh; sister, Yvonne Deberry of Laurinburg; six grandchildren, one great grandchild; three aunts, Mary Odom of Laurinburg, Carrie Hollowway of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mae Francis Talbert of Palaka, Florida; his special friend, Chester Pernell of Laurinburg; a host of many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A time of visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
