Erwin Jacobs

Erwin Jacobs, age 85 of Maxton passed away to his Heavenly home Sunday, December 29, 2019.

Erwin was born May 5, 1934 in Robeson County, son of the late Nathan Wesley Jacobs and Emma Jacobs. He was a Veteran who proudly served in the United States Navy. He was a faithful servant of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church where he loved working for the church. He also enjoyed fishing, singing and attending his Navy reunions.

Along with his parents, Erwin is preceded in death by his son, Ricky Jacobs and all nine of his siblings.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his daughter, Sandra Haigh of New York; three grandchildren, Bryan Dial, Stacey Haigh, Joshua Simmons and wife Amber Simmons; eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other loved ones.

A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 5, 2020 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. A private interment will be at a later time at Harper Ferry Church Cemetery.
