Clarence Julius “C.J.” Carter, Jr., age 64 of Laurel Hill passed away to his Heavenly home Friday, September 21, 2018.
C. J., the son of the late Clarence J. Carter, Sr. and Betty Lou Blackwell Carter was born in Scotland County November 8, 1953. He worked many years in the construction business with his father. He was a faithful member of Springfield Church of God. He was known for his love of witnessing for the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and helping people along the way. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid fan of the UNC Tarheels and Dallas Cowboys. His most precious moments were the times he spent with his family and friends.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Linda Faye Norton, Mary Alice Norton, Richard Leroy Carter and Patricia Ann Carter.
He leaves behind his brother, Edward Carter (Sanda) of Georgetown, SC; sisters, Sarah Diane Tyndall (Earl) of Laurinburg, Carolyn C. Gibson (Billy) of Laurel Hill, Anita C. Kelly (Edward) of North Richland Hills, TX; a host of loving nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Springfield Church of God officiated by Rev. David Shoemake and Rev. Robert Starner. Burial will follow in the Carter Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the Springfield Church of God.
