Catherine "Darlene" Cheek

Catherine “Darlene” Cheek, age 73 of McColl, SC passed away, Tuesday, July 9, 2019.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2019 at the McColl Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by Rev. D.J. Byrd.  A private interment will be at a later date.

Darlene was born December 7, 1945 in Marlboro County, daughter of the late Cecil Hamer Cheek and Letha Fairfax Cheek. She was a faithful member of McColl Pentecostal Holiness Church who loved the Lord and serving Him. She worked many years for Hanes Hosiery, loved reading and flowers. Darlene was a wonderful lady, with an infectious laugh who loved big and had a special love for children. The greatest times were those spent with her family and she will always be remembered as a devoted, loving mother, grandmother and friend.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers, Cecil Eugene Cheek, Nathan Randolph Cheek, Sr. and sister, Laura Hamer Cheek.

Darlene leaves behind her daughters, Tina Cheek Williams (Purnell) of McColl, SC, Samantha Cheek Usher (Ricky) of Laurinburg; brother, Johnny Cheek of Wilmington; grandchildren, Laura Ashley Daniels, who was her caregiver, Abby Shell (Dan), Alex Usher (Britteny), Whitney Williams, Ricky Austin Usher (Missy), Purnell Williams; nephew, Nathan Randolph Cheek, Jr. (Maranda) and a host of loving family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
