Callie Oxendine Obituary

Callie Mae Clark Oxendine, age 82 of Red Springs, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019.

Born February 22, 1937 in Scotland County, Callie Mae was a daughter of the late Lock and Carrie Mae Chavis Clark.  She was the devoted wife to the late Rev. Willie Sanford Oxendine and a loving mother of five children.  She worked in textiles and a homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family along with serving in the ministry beside her husband.  Gardening and sharing time with her family brought her great joy.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Timmy Oxendine; grandchildren, Jada and Shaniah, and her siblings, James C. Clark, Willie Clark, Lock Clark, Jr., Mae Helen Clark, John W. Clark, Vashtie Lowery.

Callie leaves behind her children, sons, Willie Junior Oxendine (Patricia) of Laurel Hill, Ricky Ford Oxendine of the home, and daughters, Janice Brooks (Eddie) of Rennert, Paula Cummings (Seth) of Bolton; brothers, Donald Ray Clark of Maxton, J.C. Clark of Laurinburg; sisters, Nora Neal Locklear of Laurinburg, Vera Locklear of Laurel Hill, Sadie McGirt of Laurinburg, Elouise Locklear of Laurel Hill; grandchildren, Dewayne, Isaac, Tawana, Santana, Tonya, Denise, Candis, Patrick, Ricky, Lazarous, Jacob; great grandchildren, Kirstin, Johnathan, Kaybre, Cheyenne, Maryann, KJ, Tyianna, Destiny, Katelyn and step grandchildren, Candice, Sean, Charlene, Jordan, and Tina.   She is also survived by her loving nieces, nephews and a host of loving family.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Rev. Don Carter of Clinton, NC.   The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.   She will be laid to rest in a private burial following the service at the One Way Bible Church Cemetery, Maxton, NC.
