Boyd Sessoms, Jr.

Boyd Sessoms, Jr., age 77 of Pageland, South Carolina, formerly of Laurinburg, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019.

Boyd was born July 14, 1941 in Scotland County, a son of the late Boyd Sessoms and Margie Sanders Sessoms. He was the husband to the late Judy Sessoms who passed away in 2003. He retired after many years as a truck driver. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing and singing gospel music. Boyd was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother and friend who loved spending time with each of them, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his sister, Margarete Tyndall and his great grandson.

He leaves behind his son, James Sessoms (Donna) of Laurinburg; daughters, Tammy Ridings (Jeff) of Spartanburg, SC, Beverly Brock (Buddy) of Laurel Hill; brothers, Thomas Eugene Sessoms “Gene” (Carol) of Laurinburg, Vester Sessoms (Jennette) of Laurel Hill; special friend, Rachel of the home and her family; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; a host of loving nieces, nephews and many friends.   

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Laurinburg Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
