Betty Jane Lake Hale, age 71 of Maxton passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018.
Betty, a daughter of the late Lewis Lake and Betty Gainey Fullum, was born December 23, 1946 in Scotland County. She was the loving wife of 45 years to the late Teddy Edwin Hale. For many years, she owned and operated the Twin Oaks Day Care, where she enjoyed loving and caring for children. Her love for painting, knitting, making crafts and cooking will always be remembered by those she loved. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and many friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Allen Lake.
She leaves behind her children, sons, Tony Cross of Michigan, Randy Cross (Connie) of Maxton, Edwin Hale (Debbie) of Wisconsin, Billy Cross of Hamlet; daughters, Barbie Baye (Kirt) of Washington, Tammy Thompson (Archie) of Hamlet, Chris Hale of Wisconsin, Bobbie Lowe (Donald) of Laurinburg; brother, Robert Lake (Elizabeth) of Georgia; sisters, Diane Stinson (Ron) of Michigan, Mary Lake of Hamlet; nineteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, a host of loving nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. A private interment will be at a later date.
