Mrs. Anna Belle Rider Ansted, of Laurinburg passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the age of 83.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Saint Luke United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. David Blackman.
Anna Belle was born in Rockbridge, Ohio on January 6, 1929 to Fred and Edna Woltz Rider. She was the beloved wife to the late Delbert Ansted. She was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine by Governor Jim Hunt for her service to her community. She founded Church and Community Services in Laurinburg to serve the needy in Scotland County. Anna Belle was a founding member of Saint Luke United Methodist Church and served as a longtime choir member.
The joy of her life was her family and serving others. She is dearly missed.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, David Rider and sister, Ruth Daubenmire.
She is survived by her children, son, Dyke Ansted and wife Donna of Whispering Pines; her daughter, Delann Ansted Lansdowne and husband Kevin of Highfalls; a brother, Ted Rider of Rockbridge, OH and sister, Sue Parson of Guysville, OH; her grandchildren, Lauren and Sara of Highfalls, Kasslynn and Laurynn of Whispering Pines, Nathan Coleman and wife Brittanie of Burgaw; two great grandchildren, Liza Grace and Jackson of Burgaw.
Mrs. Ansted has requested in lieu of flowers that memorial gifts be made to Saint Luke United Methodist Church, 1501 Turnpike Road, Laurinburg, NC 28352
