Amie Emily Cresante

Amie Emily Kness Cresante, age 70, of Laurinburg passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020.

Amie was born March 31, 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late John Kness and Emily Yankovic Kness. She was an avid pro-life advocate and a faithful and active member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she served as Director of Religious Education for over 15 years. Amie worked many years as an elementary school teacher at both Marlboro Academy and St. John Paul II Catholic School (formerly St. Anthony’s Catholic School), retiring from the latter. She enjoyed cooking and traveling. Her greatest joy was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Kness.

Amie leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 46 years, Robert Roland Cresante; son Michael Cresante of Alexandria, VA; daughters Beth Hart (Craig) of Rock Hill, SC; Katherine Cresante and Stefanie Spain (Andy), each of Durham; Kristen Cresante of Charlotte; brothers John Kness of Euclid, OH; William Kness (Kathy) of Pittsburg, PA; sisters Toni Perciak (John) of Strongsville, OH; Marce Longer of Cleveland, OH; grandchildren Lucy Hart, Sam Hart, Carly Hart, Dominic Spain, Emily Spain, Tommy Spain and Benji Spain, along with many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at St. Mary Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Fr. JaVan Saxon. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Christian burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Cemetery, Camp Easter Road, Southern Pines, NC  28387.
