Alexander Leviner, Sr., age 89 of Hamlet passed away Monday, September 10, 2018.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Bible Freewill Church of Worship officiated by Rev. Teddy Freeman and Clarence Sanderson. Burial will follow in the Bible Freewill Church of Worship Cemetery.
Alexander was born on May 19, 1929 in Ghio, NC, a son of the late Alexander Leviner and Fannie Jacobs. He retired after many years of service with the City of Hamlet. He was a member of the Bible Freewill Church of Worship. He loved hunting and fishing. The special moments of his life were the times he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, John William Leviner; daughter, Betty Jean Leviner and his siblings, Christine Clark, Isaac Leviner, Fred Leviner, Florie Leviner, Macom Leviner and Mark Leviner.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Esther Mae Thompson Leviner of the home; children, sons, Donnie Leviner of Charlotte, Robert Leviner (Polly) of Laurel Hill, Rev. James T. “Tommy” (Robin) of Hamlet, Richard Leviner (Lisa) of Rockingham, Alexander Leviner, Jr. (Jackie) of Hamlet, James A. Leviner (Rachel), Michael Anthony Leviner all of Rockingham; daughters, Ann N. Leviner of Hamlet, April Leviner of the home; thirty-eight grandchildren, sixty-four great grandchildren; a host of loving nieces, nephews and many friends.
A time of visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2018 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
