Linda Pate Hudson

Linda Pate Hudson, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend departed this life at the age of 73 on March 22, 2024.

She was born December 23, 1950, daughter of the late Jack David Pate and the late Dorothy Elizabeth Hanna Pate of Bennettsville, South Carolina.  The love of her life was the late John Carroll Hudson, Jr., sharing 44 years of marriage until his passing in 2020.  Many knew Linda’s smiling face and customer care while working with the State Employees Credit Union and later retiring from First Capital Bank.  She served as a faithful member of the East Laurinburg Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing the piano, reading, baking, sewing and cross stitching.  Above all, Linda loved her family and cherished time shared with each of them. 

Along with parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, David Eugene Pate.

Linda is survived by her children, sons, Thomas “Tommy” David Hayes of Laurinburg, Kevin Carroll Hudson (Stephanie) of Laurinburg, and daughter, Amanda Hayes Patterson of Laurel Hill; sister, Vanessa Pate Wallace of Cheraw, SC; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a host of loving family. 

The memorial service celebrating Linda’s life will be held 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at the East Laurinburg Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Richard Tyson.  Family will receive friends following the service at the church.
