Danny James Wyland, Sr.

Danny James Wyland, Sr., of Gibson passed away at the age of 67 on April 12, 2024.

Danny was born March 30, 1957 in Lincoln, Illinois, loving son of Letha Bell Brigman Wyland and the late James “Jimmy” Elmo Wyland.  He was a proud United States Navy Veteran and had a distinguished career as a Contractor who owned and operated D & M Construction for over 30 years.  He served as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and was a longtime member of the New Life Pentecostal Church.  He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing, wood working, and playing the game Farkle.  Above all, Danny’s greatest joy came from spending time with his loving family.

Along with his father, he is preceded in death by brother, Timothy “Timmy” Leland Wyland.

Danny is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Marsha Bagley Wyland of their home; sons, Danny James Wyland, Jr., (Megan) of Laurel Hill, and Derrick Ryan Wyland (Savannah) of Laurinburg; daughters, Tara Ann Bryant (Ray) of Gibson, and Briana Marie Oxendine (Phillip) of Lumberton; his mother, Letha Bell Wyland of Laurinburg; brother, Gary Wayne Wyland of Laurinburg, and sister, Vicki Purcell (Dave) of Illinois; eighteen grandchildren, Taylor, Seirra, Savannah, Hannah, Calum, Haley, Blaze, Kylee, Landon, Macee, Thomas, Riley, Karissa, Callie, Tucker, Jax, Ansleigh, Kyelle; eight great grandchildren, Preston, Alexandria, Alana, Maylee, Reid, Cashton, Malayah, Brianna, and one more due soon.  He also leaves a host of loving extended family and many friends.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.  The family will have a time of visitation following the service at the funeral home.
