Lacy Sanderson July 13, 2010

Lacy Sanderson of Maxton passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at the age of 80.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Smithtown Church of God officiated by Rev. Roderick Carter, Rev. Donald Locklear and Rev. Numer Locklear. Burial will follow at the Preston Cemetery.

Mr. Sanderson was born May 29, 1930 in Robeson County, North Carolina, son of the late Alex and Sarah Sanderson. He was the devoted and beloved husband of 59 years to the late Nancy Doris Sanderson. He retired from Pilkington / L.O.F. Glass manufacturing after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed gardening, building and especially spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents and wife, Lacy was also preceded in death by a brother, Tracy Sanderson and sister, Mildred Sanderson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children, Hollis Locklear of Chicago, IL, Patricia Jones and husband Glenn of Maxton, Jerry Sanderson and wife Sherry of Monroe, Janice Locklear and husband Samuel of Maxton, Brenda Barton of Pembroke, Kermit Sanderson of Laurel Hill, Sarah McNeill and husband Robert of Lumberton, Rosemary Moore and husband James of Baltimore, MD, Jimmy Dean Sanderson and wife Lee of Maxton, Darlene Craven and husband Earl of Maxton; brothers, James Sanderson and Leslie Sanderson both of Maxton and sister, Eula Mae Oxendine also of Maxton; thirty three grandchildren, fifty seven great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16th at Richard Boles Funeral Service in Laurinburg.
